Afeela EV: It’s Finally Here (Almost)!

Afeela EV: It's Finally Here (Almost)!

Preorders Open, Price Revealed, and My Excitement is Through the Roof!

Okay, so I’ve been hearing whispers about this Afeela EV for what feels like forever. Remember CES 2020? Apparently, that’s when this Sony and Honda lovechild first showed its face. I wasn’t paying attention back then (too busy figuring out TikTok, probably), but now I’m ALL ears. Sony Honda Mobility just had their big CES 2025 press conference, and guess what? Preorders are open! Like, actually open! And they finally spilled the tea on the price.

I’m no car expert, but this thing sounds seriously cool. It’s an electric sedan, which is already pretty sweet, but it’s also got this whole Sony vibe. They keep talking about the “soul of a PS5 Pro” being in this car, and honestly, that’s got me hooked. Imagine gaming-level graphics and processing power in your car! I don’t even know what that means practically, but it sounds amazing. Like, will I be able to play Gran Turismo while I’m charging? Or maybe stream movies with crazy good resolution on road trips? I need answers!

So, How Much is This Thing Going to Cost?

Alright, the moment of truth. They’re saying the Afeela EV is going to start around $89,000. Okay, deep breaths. That’s… a lot. Definitely not pocket change. But it IS a premium EV, and those tend to come with premium price tags. I’m going to have to start saving my pennies (or maybe dollars). But I’m also going to compare it to other EVs in this price range. I need to know what I’m getting for my (potential) money.

What Makes the Afeela Special? (Besides the Sony Connection)

From what I can gather, the Afeela is supposed to be super high-tech. They’re packing it with sensors for advanced autonomous driving. Apparently, it’s aiming for Level 3 autonomy, which means the car can basically drive itself in certain situations. That’s kinda mind-blowing. Imagine just chilling while your car navigates traffic. Sign me up!

They also talked a lot about the user interface and entertainment system, which makes sense given Sony’s background. Think sleek touchscreens, seamless connectivity, and probably amazing sound quality. I bet the inside of this thing looks like a spaceship. I can’t wait to see some pictures of the interior.

A Few Lingering Questions…

While I’m pretty hyped about the Afeela, I still have some questions. Like, what’s the range? How long does it take to charge? And what about availability? They mentioned preorders, but when can I actually expect to get my hands on one of these bad boys? Hopefully, they’ll release more details soon.

The Waiting Game Begins…

So, the Afeela EV is officially on my radar. I’m going to be obsessively checking for updates and reviews. It’s definitely a big investment, but the combination of Sony’s tech expertise and Honda’s automotive know-how is intriguing. I’m crossing my fingers that it lives up to the hype. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go build a spreadsheet comparing the Afeela to other EVs. Wish me luck!
