# Is the Resident Evil 4 remake worth replaying?

> Yes. RE4 remake rewards replays with New Game+, harder modes, unlockable weapons, challenges, The Mercenaries and the Separate Ways DLC.

Yes. The Resident Evil 4 remake (2023) is built for replays: New Game+ keeps your weapons and upgrades, harder difficulties change how you play, and the challenge list unlocks bonus weapons, costumes and modifiers. A first run takes most players around 15–20 hours, and later runs go much faster.

## What makes it worth replaying

- **New Game+:** carry over weapons, upgrades and money, and see fights you skipped.
- **Professional difficulty:** unlocked after finishing the game once, with tougher enemies and no aim assist.
- **Challenges and bonus shop:** completing challenges earns points to spend on extras, including infinite-ammo weapons and costumes.
- **The Mercenaries:** a free score-attack mode with several characters.
- **Separate Ways DLC:** Ada Wong's side of the story, which fills gaps in Leon's campaign.
- **Speedruns and rankings:** S+ ranks require a clear under time limits and with limited saves.

## How it differs from the original

The story follows the same structure, but scenes are reworked, Ashley and Luis get more depth, some areas are cut or changed, and parrying with the knife adds a new combat layer. If you know the 2005 game, the remake still offers surprises.
